Tournament regulations
1. Participation
All players matching the criteria stated in the general information can take part in the tournament. The organizer reserves the right of admitting to the tournaments a small number of players not matching the criteria.
2. General rules
2.1. The tournament schedule shall
be presented to the players before the start of the first round. All
changes of the schedule shall be announced by the Chief Arbiter.
2.2. The postponement of the games
is not allowed.
2.3. Time control and tournament system.
- A and B tournaments are 9-round Swiss events.
- C tournament is a 7-round Swiss event.
Time control:
- A and B tournaments: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes to the end of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
- C tournament: 60 minutes per player for the whole game.
2.4. The tournament is played according to the FIDE rules.
2.5. A player who arrives at the chessboard more than 30 minutes after the start of the session shall lose the game.
3. Tie-break scores:
Final ranking is decided by:
- number of points scored
- Median Buchholz (exclusive of the highest and lowest scores of the opponents)
- complete Buchholz
- number of wins
- progressive score
- play-off or drawing of lots as decided by the Chief Arbiter
